Information Governance Group

The Cowen Information Governance Group is a content-driven forum for executives tasked with the universal responsibilities of managing data (electronic, big, or otherwise). The purpose of this peer-based group is to provide a collaborative, confidential opportunity for professionals to learn from one another and provide thought leadership to the broader market around the governance and management of electronic information, while continuing their professional and personal development.

Participants have the opportunity to discuss leadership challenges and opportunities with peers in an open dialogue format, such as developing an information governance policy or council, obtaining senior leadership buy-in, advocating for budget and authority, identifying early and easy wins, creating positive value for the enterprise, and structuring/prioritizing the components of an information governance program.

Participants in The Cowen Information Governance Group are comprised of data governance professionals, and their colleagues in records management, compliance, information security, information privacy, eDiscovery and legal technology from Fortune 1000 companies. We approach the concept of peer learning around the information governance topic from the standpoint of policy, people, process, and technology, always with an eye towards helping each other excel in leadership abilities, getting a seat at the executive table, identifying stakeholders, and elevating and accelerating our careers.
